Human Resources - Administrative Specialist

 

Job Summary:

 

This full time non-exempt position specializes in administrative functions within the human resources department. Performs HR duties such as attendance recording, benefit administration and workers compensation coordination. Supports HR manager with various HR tasks as needed.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Performs the following duties listed and others as required to assure quality service in the Human Resources area. Works closely with the HR manager. This list does not include all duties required but serves as a basis of expectations. Duties and responsibilities may be added or modified at any time.

Collects and tracks attendance occurrences for various departments following facility policy

Coordinates workers compensation claims with department manager, HR manager and occupational health clinic.

Assists in benefit administration by coordinating annual employee enrollment as well as new hire enrollment.

Adds and removes employees from benefit plans as needed

Assists with employee recognition program and special events

Sets up personnel files for new employees and performs personnel filing

Audits employee files and documents for compliance as needed

Participates in recruiting job fairs

 

Ability to comprehend instructions, organize time and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to adapt to frequent changes in routine. Competent with personal computers, spreadsheet software, and standard office equipment.

 

Experience:  Minimum 2 years of experience required in Human Resources.

 

Education:    Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to walk, climb stairs, push and/or pull equipment and residents as needed. This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions described. These functions are not limited to the above requirements.
